Super Mario Bros. 2 is a platformer game developed by Nintendo and is the second game in the Mario series in Western countries (with The Lost Levels being released in Japan). The game is actually a modified version of the Famicom Disk System game, Yume Kojo: Doki Doki Panic.
It was released in North America on 9 October 1988, and in Europe on 28 April 1989. In Japan, it was released as Super Mario Bros. 2, on 14 September 1992.
